Staple Food (Mugg & Bean, Killarney)

Much like in life, any activity requires the 'Bread and Butter' to keep one going from day to day, when extremely interesting things are not failing to happen. For our dining endeavours, this 'Bread and Butter' has been the Mugg & Bean coffee shop in Killarney.

This is where I first met Tracy again after leaving Pietermaritzburg (again), and we've been back (to M&B) quite a few times since.

Mugg & Bean is a franchise and thus the menu, service and food are fairly standard across the various branches. Except, that the Killarney branch bakes a Chocolate Caramel Muffin, which so far we have not found in any other branch, and which Tracy is very fond of. Not unlike the Peppermint Crisp Fridge Tart, that (if my memory does not yet again deceive me) the Pavilion branch in Durban sells.

Many good chats have been had at Killarney's M&B, and the atmosphere is certainly better than the Cresta branch. Maybe I just prefer watching highway traffic in the Joburg dusk to watching human traffic in Cresta...

Regardless, coffee with Tracy is always good!
